Milestones Refined

Release 1.7 introduced the milestones feature so that you can mark the important events in the lifecycle of your bird. With release 1.8 these milestones have been refined to more clearly define these common major events. These milestones include

• capture/acquisition
• accepts food
• first hop to fist
• first creance flight
• first hunt
• molt/release

You can now also define your own milestones. To create a milestone other than those listed, select 'other' at the bottom of the list, then type in your custom value!

Below is a graph provided by Matthew Mullenix explaining how to interpret these milestones against your data.

"After several weeks of training, frequent measurement (weighing) and careful note-taking, the association between a bird's numerical body weight and its performance tends to grow stronger. We can expect the bird's very best response to food, and later to game, to occur at a specific weight or within a limited range as the training period nears its end. This has obvious practical application to entering and hunting."

Falconry Journal lets you extract your data to a spreadsheet so that you can slice it how you see fit. Above is an example of a useful way to interpret this data. Future functionality is in the works (ETA TBD) that will allow you to automatically visualize this data against any of the metrics you have entered!
